About Veronique

Veronique Eloise is the author of Toxic Luv: Inspired by True Events, a memoir that traces a college romance, a life that once looked like a film, and the long road through betrayal, gaslighting, and survival.

Her why has always been her children, the love that showed her, she writes, how strong a mother and a woman can be when the mask finally falls.

A few words from the path

  • The classroom

A philosophy course, a man who could wear any mask, and a heart that only saw the surface.

  • Courtship & chaos

Years of courtship, children, and the slow unmasking: lies, affairs, a life that no longer added up.

  • The leaving

Truth in a health portal, a lawyer’s visit, a divorce, and the long work of learning to live again, 5 years out, still some bad days, still choosing grace.

For readers in recovery

Words for anyone who has questioned their own sanity while someone else held the script.

“I needed to hear that I was not the only one who had doubted my own mind in that kind of marriage. This book is raw truth.”

A. R.Reader in recovery

“The way Veronique traces hope to horror to healing, I could not put it down. If you are still in, read this and make a plan.”

M. ChenBook group

“Finally a memoir that does not romanticize the mask. I gave it to a friend who could not name what was wrong. She thanked me in tears.”

J. M.Friend of a survivor

“My children are the strength that carried me through. The love I have for them showed me how strong I am as a mother and as a woman.”
